A Message from the President and CEO,
Daniel J. Ranieri, Ph.D.
In January 2006 members of all Boards of Directors within the La Frontera family of companies came together to draft a 3-year strategic plan. This was historic in that it was the first such document since EMPACT-SPC joined the group and as such became a statewide, as opposed to a Pima County, plan. The four main goals of the plan are (1) Think and Act As “One”; (2) Development of Board Structure, Roles, and Definitions; (3) Strategic Growth and New Business Development; and (4) Community Integration, Recognition, and Value. The first goal encompasses establishing a streamlined and common infrastructure that will serve all La Frontera companies, strengthening the corporate name in all of the markets where we operate, and reinforcing local branding. The ultimate goal is to establish a standard of excellence that will be associated with the La Frontera name. The second goal outlines strategies for corporate structure and Board duties, along with those related to Board recruitment, orientation, and continuing education. Board members are our community ambassadors, and we strive to have the most committed, well-informed, and dynamic Boards possible. Strategies for growth and new business development include those related to critical analysis and improvement of all core business areas, along with those that focus on enhancing our product lines, market share, and geographic markets. This will assure that any and all growth will be well thought out, will meet community needs, and will not jeopardize the integrity of what we currently do. Finally, in an effort to be seen as invaluable partners in our communities, we will work to become industry leaders locally, statewide, and nationally, and to become key players in any and all community issues consistent with our mission. It is not enough to define our mission simply by the services we provide. We have an obligation to all communities where we provide services to be instrumental in providing innovative solutions for a healthy and diverse community. This plan will serve as a living document that will keep us true to our mission, make us better at what we do, and aid us in being valued assets to our communities.
