The following curricula
have been published by La Frontera Center, Inc.:
ADMIRE Plus: A Treatment
Program for Persons with Co-Occurring Disorders
(La Frontera Center, Inc., 2004)
This manual describes ADMIRE Plus, an
award-winning treatment program that provides integrated services for
persons with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
All components of the program are described in detail, with numerous
suggestions on how to implement and manage such a program. The manual
also addresses challenges that may arise, and how to meet those
challenges. Because such programs often start small and then grow,
the manual ranks the components of ADMIRE Plus according to their
importance, illustrating how to start such a program with limited
staff and money by implementing the most crucial components first, and
then adding enhancements later. The following topics are addressed:
Is this program right for our agency, program facilities, hiring
staff, client referral process, client-centered treatment, cultural
and gender competence, core IOP groups, specialty groups, linked
services, client feedback, and staff retention.
Winning in the World of Work
(La Frontera Center, Inc., 1992)
This hands-on workbook teaches
pre-employment skills. The manual presents 13 chapters that focus on
the following topics: Overcoming a negative mindset, creating a
winning attitude, identifying job interests, networking, developing
good telephone skills, using resources to find the hidden job market,
selling your skills to your employer, how to fill out a winning
application, writing a winning resume, non-verbal communication,
getting ready for the interview, why employees get fired, dealing with
problems at work, and job retention.
